Brainy Scout Private Limited runs UpModel. This page says what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email, and how you sign in (Google, LinkedIn or a password, stored only as a secure hash).
- Resume and answers: the resume you upload and your answers in the assessment, to find your skill gaps and recommend roles.
- Learning: your path, progress, quiz and exam results, project submissions and messages to the AI tutor.
- Payments: what you bought, the amount and the payment provider's reference. Card and bank details are held by Razorpay or Stripe, never by us. For a card payment from outside India, Indian export rules require your name and billing address with the payment; you give them in Stripe's form and Stripe holds them, not us.
- Location: your country, worked out from your internet address, to show prices in your currency and the job market for your country. We do not keep the address itself.
- Usage: pages you open and buttons you use, to improve UpModel.
Who helps us
- Google (Gemini) reads your resume and tutor messages to produce your analysis and answers.
- Razorpay and Stripe take payments.
- Resend sends our emails.
- ipinfo tells us which country an internet address is in.
- Our servers and database are hosted with Hetzner.
We do not sell your data. Recruiters see your profile only if you publish it, and only the parts you choose to show; your email and phone are never shown.
Emails we send
- Account & progress: Your report, your next task, results, pass reminders and bookings. Every account gets them; they are part of the service, and you can turn them off.
- Career tips & offers: Companies hiring for your role, skills in demand, and offers from UpModel. Only if you agreed at sign-up or later; you can turn them off at any time.
- Always sent: Password resets, payment receipts and booking confirmations. These have no switch.
Every email names us as the sender and links to its settings. Signed in, the switches are in Settings → Privacy. We never use an address read from an uploaded résumé for tips or offers.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open. Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. When you delete your account, your profile, résumé, assessment, progress, certificate and Verified profile are removed at once. Payment records stay, without your name or email. Backups roll off within 30 days.
Your choices
You can delete your account yourself in Settings → Account. To get a copy of your data or correct it, email us from the address on your account.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, to remember your progress as a guest and your theme (light or dark), and one first-party cookie (upmodel_vid) that tells us a visit came from the same browser. With it we record the first page you opened, the site that sent you and any campaign tags in the link — not your internet address or browser details. We do not use advertising cookies.
